　　This chart shows the increase of student use of computers from the year 2014 to 2015 As we can see, in 1990 the average number of hours a student spends on the computer per week is 2. In 2016, however, the number doubles and in 2000, it soars to 20 hours per week.

　　There are many causes for this change. For one thing, computers can do a lor of things that may be difficult for man to do, making man's work easier. So, many people turn to computers for help when they want to have their job done. For another, computers are becoming cheaper day by day. As a result, many universities install them in large numbers and many families can afford to buy one, consequently, they are always available for the students to use. But the prime reason, I think, is that with the development of society, computers are used in ahnost all walks of life. Those who are specialized in operating computers are badly needed. If a student is good at computer, chances will be greater for him to get a job.

　　Many problems also arise in students use of computers. One problem is that some students spend too much time sitting in front of their computers, as a result, their bealth is affected. The other problem is that some students chat or play video games for a long time on computers, wasting a lot of their precious time. So it is suggested that these students make a scientific and positive use of the computers.

　　Attend Graduate School or Find a Job 读研还是找工作

　　It has always been a hot topic whether collegians should go on study at a graduate school or just find a job when they graduate. Some people think that students should broaden their knowledge circleand attend graduate school. Some hold that students should find a job to make aliving. In my point of view, I’m for the former for I think student should keep on study to get more knowledge.

　　毕业以后是选择读研还是找工作一直都被人们热议。一些人认为学生应该继续读研来扩大他们的知识面。一些人认为学生应该找工作谋生。就我看来，我支持第一种观点，我认为学生应该继续学习来获取更多的知识。

　　To begin with, most students in college just have a comprehensive knowledge which is not professional, so they should keep on studying to become an expert in certain field. If they go to find a jobafter graduate, they may do a bad performance in the job because of the pertinency of the job. Therefore, students should attend graduate school after they graduate.

　　首先，学生在大学期间得到的知识是很笼统的，专业性并不强，所以他们应该继续学习来增强他们在某一领域的专业度。如果他们毕业后去找工作，由于工作的针对性，他们可能做不好工作。

　　Second, collegians can get a better paidjob in the future if they attend graduate school. Generally, there are too manyjob seekers with bachelor’s degree, so they are paid little when they find job sat the first time. However, students with master’s degree are paid more thanthe bachelor’s degree when they find a job for the first time. Moreover, many companies prefer to hire students with a higher degree, so the master’s degree holders will be the priority of recruiters compared with the bachelors.

　　其次，如果大学生继续读研，那么在将来会得到一份更好的工作。通常来说，求职者有大部分都是大学学历，所以大学生第一次找工作的时候得到的报酬很低。但是，那些有研究生学历的人在第一次找工作的时候得到的报酬会多一点儿。另外，许多的公司也愿意聘请那些高学历的人士，所以在找工作时候，有研究生学历的人会比仅有大学学历的人更受招聘者的青睐。

　　In conclusion, when students graduate, itis good for them to attend graduate school in order to become more professionalin their area and get a better job in the future.

　　The Reasons for the Craze of Pursuing Graduate Studies 研究生求学狂潮的原因

　　In recent years, the number of taking partin graduate examination in our country has increased continuously. According to the register data from the whole country, experts predict that the number of theregister for graduate examination will be near 180 0000. However, why so many students go to pursue graduate studies?

　　近几年，我国参加研究生考试的数量持续增长。根据全国注册数据，专家预测研究生考试报名的数量将接近180万。然而，为什么这么多学生追求研究生学习呢？

　　Many reasons can account for this. In the first place, the pressure of the employment is one of the most important reasons.For one thing, many students tend to improve their competitive ability so thatthey can be easier to get an ideal job in the future. For another, some students can not find a job anywhere and they have to continue to take up advanced studies to improve themselves. For this reasons, those who have faith to achieve their goals always have more initiative than others in their studies.

　　很多原因可以解释这一现象。首先，就业压力是最重要的原因。一方面，很多学生想要提高他们的竞争力以便将来能够找到理想的工作。另一方面，有些学生找不到工作，他们不得不继续深造学习以提高自己。由于这一原因，那些有着实现他们目标的人往往在学习上比其他人更主动。

　　In the second place, most employers think highly of academic qualification. The demand of academic qualification has also been important in hunting job. Many undergraduate students want to achieve ahigher academic qualification by pursuing graduate studies so that they have more chances to choose their jobs.

　　其次，大部分的雇主很看重学历。在找工作的过程中学历也很重要。很多准毕业生想要通过研究生学生获得更高的学历，这样他们就有更多机会来选择工作。

　　Last but not the least, many undergraduate students pursue graduate studies just because they want to improve their social status. By pursuing graduate studies, they can get the chance to be a member ofcivil servants or political department and get high salary as well as get a higher social status.

　　In a word, the reasons for the craze of pursuing graduate studies are complex and various. As far as I am concern, to learn more knowledge is a good thing, but we should take our actual situation into consideration so that we can achieve our value much better.

　　More and more middle school students are taking all kinds of priate classes at the weekend. Are private classes necessary? There are two different views concerning this topic.

　　The people who are in favor of the idea hold the opinion that it will be better for us to learn from teachers than to learn by ourselves. In addition, we can consolidate what we have learned in class, which will do more good to our study.

　　Despite the advantages stated above, the objectors don’t think it is necessary for students to take private classes. 　　Dictionaris are of GREat use and help in learnig English.They are just like teachers when we need help.When we meet new words,just turn to them for help.They will never refuse to offer great to us.They can tell us how a word is pronounced,what it means and how it is used.Some people even like to use electronic dictionaries.Because electronic dictionaries can not only tell us the sound and meaning of words, they can also pronounce the words out like real people,they are easy to carry and use.

　　We have to use dictionaries properly and we needn't look up every word in the dictionaries.Sometimes we havt to guess the meaning out according to the context.

　　Adult Education 成人教育

　　Every Tuesday and Friday evening sees Miss Li，my neighbor and a secretary in a company rush home after a hard day’s work，gulp down her meals and then hurry out to catch the bus for her English class. Miss Li’s case is not unique，and now more and more city adults spend their leisure time trying to improve themselves at school or college.

　　There are a number of reasons for people to go back for their education. Some people，like Miss Li，are doing it to acquire another degree or diploma to impress the society. To them more knowledge，or rather，more credentials means more opportunities for better jobs and quicker promotion.

　　Other people，especially those who are laid off or out of employment go to vocational school to prepare to return to the job market. They are eager for new skills so that they can be qualified for the jobs in retail trade，administration，education and other service categories to which they are strange because most of them were blue-collar workers in the factory.

　　There are also people who come to take such courses as Chinese traditional medicine，painting，calligraphy and photography. As their working weeks decline people begin to have time to fulfill their old dream of their heart’s desire.

　　Out of necessity or out of interest，people go back to school for the common goal——to improve themselves，and this boom in adult education，in turn，helps to raise the intellectual standard of the whole country.

　　每星期二和星期五晚上都会看到李小姐，我的邻居，一个公司的秘书，在一天的辛苦工作之后，从公司赶回家，做完饭然后赶快车上她的英语课。李小姐的情况是不是唯一的，现在城市里越来越多的成年人把他们的闲暇时间花在学校里提高自己。
