　　Double crochet decrease (dc dec): (Yo, hook, yo, draw lp through, yo, draw through 2 lps on hook) in each of the sts indicated, yo, draw through all lps on hook.

　　InstructionsHeart

　　Rnd 1 (RS): With red, ch 55, using care not to twist ch, sl st in first ch to form ring, ch 5 (counts as first dc and ch 2 throughout), dc in same ch as beg ch-5 (center bottom point of Heart), dc in each of next 25 chs, dc dec (see Stitch Guide) in next 4 sts (center top of Heart between lobes), dc in each of next 25 chs, join with sl st in 3rd ch of beg ch-5.

　　Rnd 2: Sl st in ch-2 sp, holding plastic canvas behind crocheted piece and working into sts of rnd 1 and into plastic canvas holes as indicated, ch 5, dc in same st as beg ch-5 and center bottom hole of plastic canvas as indicated, [ch 2, sk next dc and next plastic canvas hole, dc in next dc and next hole of plastic canvas] 6 times, [ch 2, sk next dc, dc in next dc and next hole of plastic canvas] twice, for the following section work in crocheted piece only, [ch 2, dc in next dc] 8 times, ch 2, yo, hook in next dc, yo, pull up lp, yo, pull through 2 lps on hook, yo, sk next 3 dc, hook in next dc, yo, pull up a lp, yo, pull through 2 lps on hook, yo, pull through all lps on hook, [ch 2, dc in next dc] 8 times, ch 2, dc in next dc and next opposite corner hole of plastic canvas, ch 2, sk next dc, dc in next dc and next hole of plastic canvas, [ch 2, sk next dc and next hole of plastic canvas, dc in next dc and next hole of plastic canvas] 5 times, ch 2, join with sl st in 3rd ch of beg ch-5.

　　Rnd 3: Sl st in ch-2 sp, ch 7 (counts as first dc and ch-4), 2 dc in same ch-2 sp, (2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in next ch-2 sp, [sc in next ch-2 sp, (2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in next ch-2 sp] 7 times, hook in next ch-2 sp, yo, pull up lp, sk next 2 sps, hook in next ch-2 sp, yo, pull up lp, yo, pull through all lps on hook, [(2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in next ch-2 sp, sc in next ch-2 sp] 7 times, (2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in next ch-2 sp, dc in same ch-2 sp as beg ch-7, join with sl st in 3rd ch of beg ch-7. Fasten off.

　　FinishingWith small sponge, apply fabric stiffener to Heart, making sure it is saturated. Pin to pinning board stretching slightly, pinning in each ch-2 sp of rnd 3.After all ch-2 sps are secured with straight pins, use a straight pin to draw down slightly in cleft of Heart to shape. Allow to dry.Remove from pinning board.Starting at center top, weave ribbon through ch-2 sps of rnd 2 around Heart, leaving a 9-inch length of ribbon at each end for hanging lp.Holding ribbon ends tog, tie ribbon ends in a knot.Tie a small length of white ribbon into a bow. Center and glue bow between lobes of Heart.Cut photo accordingly. Slide in between Heart and plastic canvas, making sure picture is completely down behind first rnd of pattern.
