在这个辅导中,我们要为同学们提供两种学习方式练习用英语写短文。第一种方式是中国式的“描红模子”方法,另一种是“美式写作训练法”。
我们曾说过,“冰冻三尺,非一日之寒”,用英语写作,是积英语语言学习各项技能为一体的学习过程,需要长期不懈的练习,才能获取基本的写作技能。
希望同学们看完下面的练习方式后,能提出您的建议,说说喜欢采用什么样的学习方式?我们尽量按照同学们的要求,为你们安排相应的练习内容。
二、美式写作训练法
首先,你的短文题目是“吸烟有害健康吗?”拿到题目首先要审题。题目是一个问题,要求你回答吸烟是否有害。无论你回答吸烟有害还是无害,都要求你举例说明,最后还要有结论,这就是我们现在用的文字主教材《英语写作基础教程》文字教材中的主要教学内容:说明文写作中的例证说明文,要求用例子来说明你的观点。
好,我们下面开始“吸烟有害健康吗?”的写作练习。
首先,自问几个问题:
1. 是否会用引文?
2. 是否会用实例和统计数据来支持你的论点?

4. 是否会用说服性段落?

让我们看一段学生的文字,看看他是怎么表达的:
Smoking is really harmful to both smokers and to the people around them. Smoking can destroy a smoker’s health since the smoke contains more than 4,000 chemicals.(Slothower) Smoking causes many serious disease. Since smoking “reduces the effectiveness of the immune system,” smokers frequently are ill (Health Edco). In addition to destroying a smoker’s health, secondhand smoke can damage other people’s health, especially children’s one report stated that over 15% of children’s visits to a doctor and 20% of children’s lung infections(感染) were caused by secondhand smoke (California EPA). Secondhand smoke can even cause cavities(腔) in children since “saliva(唾液) can counteract the lactic(乳汁) acid, but passive smoking also causes throat inflammation(炎症), which leads to mouth breathing, which dries out the mouth” (Kid’s Cavities). Smokers should think of themselves and others and stop smoking now.

英语写作基础方法指导
1 .牢固扎实地掌握英语各项基础知识并灵活运用(大到句法、词法,小到大小写、标点符号的使用,遣词造句、连句成文等)。
2 .观察理解试题要求的提示内容,独立思考,组织信息材料,安排短语结构,决定先后顺序,确定表达方法。
3 .会使用英语中的连词,如 and , but , so ,等,使短文衔接自如,给文章润色,提高表达效果。
4 .掌握并能熟练使用各种应用文的体例、常用语、格式等。
写提示作文有技巧吗?有!
1 .认真审题,明确要求。在提笔写作之前,花几分钟时间,弄清题目提示的内容、格式、时间、环境等,以免出现文不对题的现象,造成不必要的时间浪费。审题应包括:
( 1 )仔细阅读写作要求和提示,在重点词下划线,以引起重视和注意;
( 2 )用 a , b , c 等符号排列要点,把材料分成主次;
( 3 )确定体裁、格式和人物;
( 4 )确定表达的时间主线——时态及其相关搭配用法。
2 .写作一定要切题,抓住要点。
题目要求的内容应写进去,以保证内容的完整。对于与要求无关的内容切忌任意发挥,画蛇添足。
3 .写作必须注意格式。
比如英汉信件、日记、通知在格式上就有较大的不同。平常应多读、多记、多练相关文体课本、同步练习以达到实际运用的目的。
4 .注意语法正确、用词得当、语言地道。在写不同题材和体裁时,所用的句式、时态、语言特征及用词均不同。写作时要多从交流的角度考虑以上各个方面。
5 .写作时切忌用汉译英的方式进行。在写信时,考生不要把题目中的.汉语指令直接译成英语,要尽量用简练的、地道的英语来写。
6 .写作应连贯、流畅。尽量使用最熟悉的词句,少用复合句和长句,多用简单句、短句和主动句。
7 .检查时应着重注意以下内容:
( 1 )动词的时态和语态;
( 2 )单词拼写;
( 3 )冠词、介词用法;
( 4 )语序;
( 5 )名词的数与主谓一致;
( 6 )句意与语法的一致性;
( 7 )标点、格式、词数等。
