　　CD排除，attempt和try重复，犯了GMAT简洁性原则的大忌

　　第三步

　　看出that从句中the chemical irritant的共用

　　hat从句的理解：将其还原后为：that are the organism's attempt to metabolize (the chemical irritant), or to render harmless (the chemical irritant).

　　第四步

　　render倒装句的理解

　　render是vt，正常语序为render sth. adj. 意为"致使某物怎么样了"。看到vt后面直接形容词，就想到这个sth(the chemical irritant)可能因为长度太长被倒装到后面了。

　　语序应该改为：or render the chemical irritant harmless.

　　解析that从句

　　that指代的enzymes，后面结构是对enzymes的解释。
