July 07,2016
We're counting down the five most popular songs in the Billboard Hot 100 Pop Singles chart, for the week ending July 9, 2016.
The United States celebrated its 240th birthday on July 4, and here’s something else to celebrate: a new song in the Top Five.
Number 5: Calvin Harris & Rihanna "This Is What You Came For"
Calvin Harris and Rihanna say “This Is What You Came For,” and if you want new music, yes it is. They jump a slot to fifth place.
This is their second visit to the Top Five: back in 2011, “We Found Love” spent 10 weeks at number one and went on to become Rihanna’s most successful single.

Number 4: Chainsmokers Featuring Daya "Don't Let Me Down"
The Chainsmokers and Daya seem comfortable in fourth place, because that’s where we find them once again with “Don’t Let Me Down.” The Chainsmokers are teaching young DJs to make hit records.
Andrew Taggart posts YouTube tutorials explaining how he creates their hits. Andrew says he and his partner Alex Pall learned all they know from YouTube, and they want to return the favor.
Number 3: Desiigner "Panda"
Desiigner relaxes in third place with his former champ “Panda.” The 19-year-old Brooklyn rapper is criss-crossing the country, promoting his breakout single which he bought for $200. Desiigner says he purchased the beat online from a European kid named Menace.
Number 2: Justin Timberlake "Can't Stop The Feeling"
Justin Timberlake stays in striking distance this week, as “Can’t Stop The Feeling” holds at number two. Justin gave his fans an online gift last weekend.
He and wife Jessica Biel shared an Instagram photo of their one-year-old son, Silas and U.S. media report they’re actively trying for a second child.
Number 1: Drake Featuring WizKid and Kyla "One Dance"
Not only does Drake rule the Hot 100 for a seventh big week with “One Dance,” he also hangs onto the album title as Views holds the gold for a ninth straight week. That’s the longest consecutive streak at number one since 2012, when Adele dominated the list for 10 weeks with 21.
According to Billboard, streaming is the secret to Views’ success, with almost 73 percent of its activity coming from online platforms such as Apple Music, Spotify, and Tidal.
The tide of hits never stops on the charts, so be sure to check us out next week!
