考研英语翻译真题解析
考研讲了这么久，一直听到同学们说翻译真难，几乎是不得分的。所以，怀着好奇心，就来和大家一起啃这块硬骨头了。希望小编能多少给大家带来一点点帮助，这样也不算白白的浪费大家的时间。我们首先从比较简单的2007年开始吧。
(1)Traditionally, legal learning has been viewed in such institutions as the special preserve of lawyers, rather than a necessory part of the intellectual equaipment of an educated person.
要想翻译好这句话，首先我们应该仔细分析这句话的结构，这句话结构是：legal learning has been viewed as..., rather than...相对来说不是很复杂。另外，这句话中的such institutions指代什么?preserve怎么翻译?我们都应该处理妥当。
所以，这句话我们可以初步翻译为：
从传统上讲，法律学习在加拿大的`大学教育中，一直被认为是律师的专属区，而不是受教育者只是设备中的必须部分。
这句话翻译的并不完美，里面还有我们要调整的部分，比如，necessory part of the intellectual equipment的正确译法应该是什么?
所以，调整后分译文是：
从传统上来说，法律学习在加拿大的大学教育中，一直被认为是律师的专属区，而不是受教育者必备的知识体系。

首先这句话，我们要清楚它的结构：it links these concepts...which is parallel to the links...。然后需要弄明白代词it、these concepts具体指代什么?which引导的定语从句怎么翻译? as从句怎么翻译?cover在新闻报道中又是什么意思呢?
翻译初版本是：
另一方面，法律把正义、民主和自由这些概念和日常现实联系在一起，与记者基于日常做出的联系相似，正如记者们在新闻中这报道和评论的一样。
译文已经把这句话的答疑表述出来了，达到了基本的雅的要求，但是，这句话读起来实际上并不通顺，我们需要稍做些调整。即：
另一方面，法律把正义、民主和自由这些概念和日常现实联系在一起，就像记者们在报道新闻和评论新闻时的做法一样。

But the idea that the journalist must understand the law more profoundly than an ordinary citizen rests on an understanding of the established conventions and special responsibilities of news media.
这句话理解的一个难点是学生能否看出来，句子开头就是一个同位语从句，只要看出了同位语从句，那么主干信息就不是特别不容易找了。大家好好看，我是怎么变出了句子主干的。that引导的同位语从句，从句不缺句子成分，换句话说，从句中的主干是the journalist must understand the law，方式是更深刻，与普通的市民相比。找到从句的结构后，下一步，把that从句全部括起来，那么，整句话的主干就是the idea rests on an understanding of...，of后面跟了两个宾语。
