　　座右铭是用来激励或提醒自己的警句格言。人人都有自己的座右铭，我的座右铭是：虚心使人进步，骄傲使人落后。它是我从一件小事上取来的，这句格言将伴随我一生。

　　那次，是英语第一单元的考试。英语考试是小菜一碟，因为我是一个英语健将。

　　前一天晚上，英语老师布置了复习的作业。我想：这么简单的英语，不复习也能考一百分，何况我单词、句子都背熟了。想完，就开开心心地看电视去了。

　　第二天，英语课到了。我心中有说不出来的兴奋。我默默地念了一遍：“一百分一定属于我！”听力部分飞快地结束了，我信心十足地答好了每一道题目，又快速地将笔试做好，就懒得检查，想起考一百分的情形。时间到了，我收好试卷交上去了，心里沾沾自喜。

　　第三天，要发试卷了。我又念了一遍那句话：“一百分一定属于我！”“赵玉颖，90分！”老师把90这个字咬的重重的，我脚下那朵幸福的云突然消失了，自己就像掉入了悬崖一般，那个分数让我心如刀割。不管怎样，我只能接受事实，我低着头，红着脸，慢慢地去拿试卷，那张试卷真得不忍心多看一眼。

　　傍晚放学了，我一个人垂头丧气地走在回家的路上，想：”怎么办？试卷要签名，怎么把这么差的成绩给妈妈看？这真是幸福化成灾难啊！

　　回到家里，妈妈看我失落的样子，就问我：“怎么了，孩子？”

　　“我……考了……90分……”我吞吞吐吐说。

　　说完，几颗冰凉的眼泪水滑了下来。

　　“没关系，”妈妈说，“下次再努力！”

　　听完妈妈的话，我抹掉眼泪，开心地笑了。

　　这件事，我得到的`启示是：不能骄傲自大，不然会让你落后，而谦虚会使你进步，向前，向前，再向前！
