Last summer vacation, I went to Jiuzhaigou for a tour. I saw many Tibetans holding something like a rattle in their hands. After many inquiries, I know this thing is called a warping tube. I like it very much, so I bought one.
The Sutra tube is used by Tibetan monks to chant sutras. There is a sharp thing on the top of it. There are four plastic blocks beside it. Its very lifelike! There are several words beside the plastic gem that I cant recognize, no matter how I think about them. In the middle of the plastic gem and the unrecognizable words, there is a long iron chain. One end of the iron chain is in the warping cylinder, and the other end has something like a water drop. It turns fast. Most of the colors of the warping tube are yellow and brown. In addition to the above two colors, there are a small amount of red, green and purple.
I like the warping cylinder, its lifelike fake gem, its unrecognizable writing, its pointed top. Shaking it, I feel as if I am in the ancient and magical land of Tibet.

The next week, well be looking at The Gold Diggers of 1933, a piece that is very representative of the escapist trend in films released during the depression.
Some of the films we will be watching will probably be new to you, like Frank Capras Why We Fight. Others you might have already seen on TV like Rebel without A Cause starring James Deane, or Stanley Coopers Doctors Strange Love.
However, I hope you see even familiar film with new eye.
In the last three weeks of the course, we will be watching films from the 1980s and youll choose one of them as a subject for an extensive written critique.

On the contrary sometimes these artists tend to be unscrupuous. They convert rumours into facts and present them before us. This might impair the reputation of some illustrious people in todays society. On such occasions, certain restrictions are understandable. Nevertheless we all do know what is right or wrong. Rules and regulations not always are the solution to how artists present their own ideas. Hence it is doltish to be impetuous and the government should enforce alternative ways to control the media.
