　　My former classmate and friend Mr. Huang Hua, is leaving for Chicago next week to attend Northwestern University’s Graduate School of Engineering. I have taken the liberty of sharing with him your address and telephone number so that he can contact you in case he needs some help. I hope you don’t mind.

　　Huang will be doing fine eventually, being such a brainy person. But, as a total stranger in the city, he may need some informal orientation on the city, the public transportation system, setting up a bank account, buying groceries, etc.

　　I would very much appreciate if you could find some time to show him around a little bit or in any way help him get situated and settled down. As far as I know, you two have a few things in common: both of you are engineers as well as sports buffs and neither of you can beat me in table tennis! I hope you will find Huang and agreeable person.
