What we cannot afford to lose
We cannot lose innovation
There is a wonderful word which expresses the most original motions and desires among human-beings. With solving any kind of imperfections, our world has moved ahead. This is the word “innovation” that we cannot afford to lose.
We chicaned every detail of the innovation. Thousands years before, we created fire when we took a stone to knock another one. Since Han Dynasty, four great inventions had been created and it is one of the greatest signs that China become to the ancient civilized country. And nowadays, thousands of software, products, architectures and public facilities have upgraded more than that about 100 years ago. So how did these happen? What will you do if you are not satisfied with your tools anymore? What will you do if old mode cannot afford to develop in a company? There is no doubt that we should innovate no matter where we are and what we do. Not because of the design itself, but actually for its intended purpose.
If there was no Apple, everyone could not imagine how to contact others easily and enjoy a better Internet surfing.
If there was no Microsoft, perhaps we still worked in a dim office and duplicate some troublesome documents. If there was no Newton, and no theory of gravity, maybe I will win the Nobel Prize like Newton rather than just standing here. I have heard that three apple changed the world. The first one seduced Eve. The second one awakened Newton. The third one was in the hands of Steve Jobs. We sort of think the innovation of the world began with apple. I imagine lots of people want to become another Newton or Jobs right now with just one hand to change the world, right? Have the innovation to follow your heart. It somehow already reflects what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.
Via questioning, we can start to innovate. Via innovating, we can start to create better lives. No innovation, no improvement. No improvement, no success. And no success, no civilization. Now, our time is limited, so dont waste it living someone elses life! Dont let the noise of others opinions drown out your own inner voice! Dont let yourself down! It is the innovation that we cannot afford to lose!

Nowadays traditional music seems having been fogotten by the young. Few teenagers prefer to listen to traditional music rather than take a long time to learn and study it. Peking opera used to be popular among the Chinese. However, if someone whose age is about 18 sings Peking opera at classroom today, I’m afraid he might be laughed at. Dose the traditional music get out of modern life? Absolutely not! What we need is just a little piece of innovation. The song “qian li zhi wai” singed by Jay combines the tradition Chinese style with pop elements perfectly. Besides, Gangnam Style is now so hot that a number of famous stars speak highly of it. The horse riding is simple, but the horse riding dance is not simple at all. It is the reason why Gangnam Style is widely accepted by so many fans immediately, and has been the top 1 of UK singles chart.
In total, we need to treat traditional music in a proper and different way, and breakthrough must be taken towards it. Innovation is like a red flower among the green grasses. Though it is just a point, the effects may beyond our imagination.

My Understanding of Innovation Good afternoon everybody.
I’m Alison from GAMI. It’s my honour to stand here to share my understanding of innovation. About innovation, what comes to your mind firstly ? As for me, most innovation shines our lives in the long process of humanhistory. Just imagine ten million years ago, what are our ancestors’ lifestyles?
They must hunt animals or pick the roots and leaves for food laboriously with simple tools ; They have to roar with each other to communicate in a long distance; Their transportation basically rely on walking. In short, their lives are hard, simple, even a little boring. However, taking a look at our lives today! We can order KFC at home , our food is more easily and diversifiedly to be acquired; we can get in touch with our friends anywhere at anytime by telephone , E-mail andWeChat! Our vehicles include buses , cars, planes and so on, it becames so easy to reach the destination. So how did these happen? Those changes are all owing to the countless innovation. It makes our lives become more convenient, comfortable and colorful. But in today’s modern life , don’t we need to innovate? No no, let’s have a look at the problems we are facing: air pollution, traffic jam, waste of resources. Those are related to our survival. Maybe we can make a huge machine to filter the polluted , or invent a car which not only can drive along the road, but also can fly in the sky; or one day we synthesis super energy materials, we would never relay on traditional resources any more. Are those ideas too exaggerated? Who knows? Just as hundreds years ago, nobody can imagine we can fly by plane. Time will tell you the truth .As Edward, a famous psychologists, said: Without innovation, there would be no progress, and we would be forever repeating the same patterns. Therefore, innovation is an eternal topic for people, countries and societies!

21st century is the century of technology. Nowadays, technology is everywhere around us. The development of technology has a significant affact toward the society. Several technologies that we usually use are the internet, computer, and cellphone. These new technologies make our life much easier and better.
First, the development of computer changes our life. Decades ago, people needed to do lots of complex calculation on hand because they did not have computer, and more obvious, they did not have the software for calculation. As the result of that, people spent hours on the equations that a computer can solve in just a minute. Since the development of computer, people are able to use some kind of software to compute lots of complex functions and mathematical calculation. Computer becomes the most helpful equipment for the sciencists because they can use their time more efficiently.
Also, internet is another useful tool for us today. The development of internet brings a great impact toward the society. Instead of going to library and fliping all the books to figure out some information, we can just simply use a mouse and click on the website to do research. The internet leads us to a place where we can find unlimited information and resources. It makes our life much easier and better.
The last technology is cellphone. Nowadays, many people have a cellphone. But it just appears on the market for about 10 years. It is very convenience to the users because we can talk to anyone we want with a phone as small as a wallet. Also, we can communicate with others by making a phone call instead of sending letters. It is very fast and useful way to communicate.
In conclusion, I believe the development of technology brings significant impact to our life. It is very helpful to us and I believe technology will keep improving in future.

Do you know this applicationIt’s called Mianliao which is invented by the students in UESTC and it won the first prize in the Internet plus competition in 2015. This app establishes a great platform to shorten the distance between students. Obvouisly, every day, we are surrounded with a large number of new ideas and inventions. There is no doubt that all of us are able to become inventors since we all possess the spirit of innovation.
As the saying goes, you can do everything that you imagine. So what is innovation？As far as I’m concerned, innovation means change. There is a famous saying said by Charles Darwin: It is not the strongest of the species that survive, but the one most responsive to change. That is to say:Only when we are able to have an entirely brand-new look can the whole society develop. But how to change？The key to changing is to cultivate our innovative thinking which must be the soul of leadership. breaking out the stereotype which is deeply rooted in our mind is of great importance.
Besides, we need take a skeptical attitude and have the courage to criticize everything. It goes without saying that, we are faced with a lot of the so-called authorities and customs which makes it hard to discover the blank to make up in our life. Therefore, we are required to have the skeptical attitude towards the objects around us and scan our current situation.
Of course, creating something new brings the risk and we need to persist our dreams and never forget our initial determination.
With the rapid development of the economy, the government provides the undergraduates with a great platform and beneficial policies for innovation and entrepreneurship and there are many opportunities for us. I suppose that entrepreneurship is based on innovation and there are a wide variety forms of entrepreneurship.
Innovation and entrepreneurship play an essential role not only in the undergraduates
themselves but also in the development of our society. Firstly, entrepreneurship transforms scientific and technological achievements and boost the economic development. Entrepreneurs can make profits by making full use of the achievements and the GDP will increase with the efficiency increasing. Secondly, it creates much more job opportunities, which release the employment pressure. Thirdly, entrepreneurship offers the undergraduate another option of earning money.
Now I’d like to show you
my design of an innovation project. Frankly speaking, it’s just a kind of new idea.
This year I volunteered to take care of some disabled children in the health recovery center. All the children there are unable to speak and communicate with people freely as normal men. Therefore, I want to design a unique application only used for disabled and help them learn to speak out some simple words. If they get lost or something terrible occurs, their parents will be annouced as soon as posible. Unfortunately, I’m an art literal student and I’m not major in software and technology. So I’m lack of vocational skills to invent this kind of application.
However, I believe that I will make it some day and it will surely give a hand to disabled children.

You establish them in order to let me own a bright future and not regret for what I have done today. Since I was in primary school, you have driven me to school to learn to play the piano every week while I was keen on guitar. Although I have made some achievements through your strict training, there is no denying that I am still unhappy. However, as is known to us all, only when people put their hearts into music can they create beautiful sound.
In your opinion, nothing is more important than to bee the top student. Under such stress, I need some ways to release them, but you forbid me attending sleepovers even hanging out with my friends. To speak frankly, I feel I am being a “study machine” day by day. There is no passion in my life and I just spare no effort to gain knowledge. Forbids on TV and Internet make me lose contact with the world. It’s universally acknowledged that if a student only buries himself in studying and don’t concern about the society, he will make no contribution to the world.
Substantial as my life is, the qualities of my life is on no account satisfactory. My dear tiger parents, so precious is my adolescent that I
can’t make it such dull. Please give me a sky, just let me fly. I’m sure I will give you a surprise to see how strong I bee.
