today i am very glad to be here to share with you my ideas of success. what is success? it is what everyone is longing for.sometimes success would be rather si-mp-le. winning a game is success; getting a high grade in the exam is success; ma-ki-ng a new friend is success; even now i am standing here giving my speech is somehow also success.
however, as a person's whole life is concerned, success becomes very complicated. is fortune success? is fame success? is high social status success? no, i don’t think so. i believe success is the realization of people's hopes and ideals.nowadays, in the modern society there are many people who are regarded as the successful. and the most obvious characteristics of them are money, high position and luxurious life. so most people believe that s success and all that they do is for this purpose. but the problem is wether it is real success. we all know there are always more money, higher position and better condition in front of us. if we keep chasing them, where is the end? what will satisfy us at last? therefore, we can see, to get the real success we must need something inside, which is the realization of people's hopes and ideals.
different people have different ideas about success; cause people's hopes and ideas vary from one another. but i am sure every success is dear to everybody, cause it is not easy to come by, cause in the process of our striving for success, we got both our body and soul tempted, meanwhile we are enlightened by the most valuable qualities of human beings: love, patient, courage and sense of responsibility. these are the best treasures. so now i am very proud that i have this opportunity to stand here speaking to all of you. it is my success, cause i raise up to challenge my hope.
what is success? everyone has his own interpretation as i do. but i am sure every success leads to an ever-brighter future. so ladies and gentlemen, believe in our hopes, believe in ourselves, we, every one of us, can make a successful life!
wish you all good success!

success is everyone wants, whether it was or the cause of education. give people the joy of success.
how can we succeed? the great inventor thomas edison said, genius is 99 percent on 1 percent of the hard work and inspiration. success must be hard work. if you sleep, is unlikely to succeed.
edison invented the light bulb durable, he has done many thousands of experiments, but still no way to enable the ability to live in high-temperature filament. next to it was said: "bah! can not find even a. you have made so many experiments, and can not find, do not white and effort, and doing anything else now!" he said: "i must ability to find a live high-temperature materials, he must find out. "work pays off, he finally invented a durable light bulb, so that the well-being of people around the world to be known as the 20th century, one of the greatest inventions.
we need to learn the spirit of his, if he was not unremitting efforts, it is impossible to invent the light bulb durability, we can see the need for the conditions of success, as long as required to meet the conditions for success, success easy.
seize the opportunity is one of the conditions for success. for example it! bill gates, the world's richest university, a keen awareness of the emerging computer industry in this huge business opportunities, he dropped out from harvard university, and with their friends opened a computer company called microsoft, when his friends friends are opposed to what he has done, but bill gates said, time will prove that i am right to do so. now, computers in all walks of life in a wide range of applications, to the people's work and life have brought tremendous changes, microsoft has become the world's largest software one.
there are a lot of success, for example, scientific and cultural qualities of their own. without a good basic knowledge, even though hard work and a heaven-sent opportunity to succeed or not. there are left to help others, it is necessary to embark on the path of success and is exceptionally difficult.
to be successful, needs to be done and opportunities.

and the ending is always the same, finishing with the line "and they live happily every after."
why aren't we tired of something so fanciful, so unrealistic, and, i would say, so unimaginative? how can a story like that endure generations of repetition`? because, i think, it is a typical success story. it is highly philosophical and symbolic. by implication, we see a 4-step definition of success: 1 ) a goal to be set. as represented by the beautiful princess; 2 ) challenges to be met, as represented by the three tasks; 3 ) the process of surmounting difficulties, as represented by the ordeals the youth goes through; and 4 ) the reward of success, as represented by the happy marriage.
the story not only caters to everyone's inward yearning for success, but also emphasizes the inseparability of the process and the result. the reward of success will be much amplified if the path leading towards it is treacherous, and vice versa. if a person inherits his father's millions and leads an easy life, he is not a successful person even in material terms, because there are no difficulties involved in his achieving affluence. the term "success", to be sure. will not sit still for easy definition. but as i understand it, the true meaning of success entails a combination of both the process and the satisfactory result of an endea#from 本文来自高考资源网#url# to clarify my view, let me give another analogy.
if we changed the rules of football, greatly enlarged the goal and sent away david seaman or any other goal keeper, so that another david, namely david beckham, could score easily, then scoring would not give him the thrill of accomplishment and the joy that it brings. if we further changed the rules by not allowing arsenal's defenders to defend, so that beckham needed only to lift a finger, actually a toe, to score, then there would be no game at all, because the meaning of winning would have disappeared. in accepting the challenge, in surmounting the difficulties and in enduring the hardship, success acquires its value. the sense of attainment varies in proportion to the degree of difficulties on overcomes.
the concept of success is not constant but relative because the nature of difficulty is also relative. something you do effortlessly might pose a great difficulty for a handicapped person. in acquiring the ability to do the same as you can, he or she achieve success. that's why we greatly admire stephen hawking, because, though confined to a wheel chair, he has contributed greatly to the field of science.
i myself, a rather shy person by nature who easily suffer from stage fright, had to pluck up great courage to take part in a speech contest like this. i could have stayed away and had an easy time of it by not entering the university level contest.but i chose to accept the challenge and to face the difficulties. now here i am. if i come out first, it will be a great success for me. if i come out last-i hope this will not be the case-but if i come out last, i will not call my attempt a failure, but will also celebrate it as a true success, because part of my goal is my own character training-to do more assertive, to be brave in face of difficulties. for me, it is a meaningful step forward, small as it is, in the long journey toward the final success in my life, because i have truly gained by participating.
let us return to our handsome young prince and the 4-step definition of success. you my have noticed that the usual worldly criteria of wealth, position and fame were not mentioned as part of the story, but rather, it emphasized the process of overcoming difficulties. the ancient wisdom had already defined the meaning of success, and this is my definition, too.
thank you.

it is easy to describe success in terms of money, fame and reputation. but i believe that success is not external. i believe that success comes from within. my definition of success is to be true to yourself, and be true to others. that means, that you must cherish your personal ideal even in the face of adversity. i also believe that success is not discriminatory. success is not restricted to such a class of people, in fact, it may be achieved by any person irrespective of his race, creed, gender and economic background. a good example of success is that of beethoven. he is one of the world's most famous composers, yet he was deaf. he could not hear the majestic pieces of music that he created. yet, in the face of this adversity, he was able to maintain his ideals--that of composing music.
to exemplify what success means to me, i pose a question to all of you. what brings us together here today? i believe that it is the beauty of the spoken word. the effect of pause and the sound of rhetoric are unique to the spoken word. i believe the beauty of the spoken word is even stronger for those who have difficulty in expressing themselves. these people are reclusive and had their emotions hidden within them. i once went to australia and i saw two pictures, once was drawn by a normal child, the other was drawn by a child with social inhibitions. the picture drawn by the normal child was si-mp-le and plain. the other was life-like, full of details and imagination. what this shows is that these are ideas, emotions and feelings that are locked internally in these children.
my ideal is to be the key, spreading the beauty of the spoken words to these children. these children have been neglected, but i feel that i can and should help these children to find themselves and be able to express themselves.
i realize that this is a difficult task, and there are many obstacles on the way. but i believe in my ideals and i will stick to them--even in the face of adversity. we should never have a premature abortion of ideals--let the child, let our ideals, stand the challenge. for a life without ideals is not living.
thank you!

what is success?
what is success? different people hold views on this question. some think that one is successful if he can make a great deal of money. others argue that success means holding an important government post. still others believe that whoever has got high academic title is successful. it is clear that there are quite different opinions on success.
in order to become successful, you should first of all be both perseverant and hardworking. as you know, whatever you do, there are always two possible results: success and failure. when you fail, you should never lose heart. on the contrary, you must build up your confidence and work even harder. you should always keep in mind that perseverance is the mother of success and industry is the key to it. in addition, you should pay great attention to your work method. it is necessary for you to sum up your experience constantly and improve the efficiency of your work. finally, it is important for you to get along well with your co-workers, care for each other and help each other. if you follow these principles, you will certainly achieve remarkable success in the future.
in my opinion, success means achieving brilliant results in one’s work, that is, ma-ki-ng outstanding contributions to the development of the country and bringing happiness to the people. so my conclusion is that even if one has made great progress in what he does, i don’t think there’s any reason for him to be conceited.

and the forth is “look back”. may be you can ask yourself frequently.“am i have any “soft spots”?”if you do,try to find them and make some effort to identify the weaknesses, then try to do better tomorrow.
the last is “hold out a carrot”,whatever your work needs, always hold out a reward for your achievement. for example ,if you finish the day’s scheduled work, you can go out watching a movie or just eating with your good friends, such a reward will inspire you to work harder and harder.
ladies and gentlemen,we all know work is a chance to find yourself.if you think of work as a punishment, how can you achieve your goals?
ladies and gentlemen, working hard does have its drawbacks ,its difficukties and painful moments, sometimes maybe you want to give up the whole thing.but we all believe, after all the drawbacks, there’s a benefit.
hard work is the way to the end of the rainbow.
ladies and gentlemen, let’s working harder and harder, for ourselves, for our company and for our country.and this is also one of the thoughts that came to me while preparing this speech.

i myself, a rather shperson bnature who easilsuffer from stage fright, had to pluck up great courage to take part in a speech contest like this. i could have stayed awaand had an eastime of it bnot entering the universitlevel contest.but i chose to accept the challenge and to face the difficulties. now here i a if i come out first, it will be a great succesfor me. if i come out last-i hope thiwill not be the case-but if i come out last, i will not call mattempt a failure, but will also celebrate it aa true success, because part of mgoal imown character training-to do more assertive, to be brave in face of difficulties. for me, it ia meaningful step forward, small ait is, in the long journetoward the final succesin mlife, because i have trulgained bparticipating.
let ureturn to our handsome young prince and the 4-step definition of success. you mhave noticed that the usual worldlcriteria of wealth, position and fame were not mentioned apart of the story, but rather, it emphasized the procesof overcoming difficulties. the ancient wisdom had alreaddefined the meaning of success, and thiimdefinition, too.
