We all know Tagore.This famous Indian poet once said, “Life is given to us, and we earn it by giving it.” As the saying goes, nature is given to us, and we earn it by contributing to it. However, most people nowadays just want to ask for more from the nature. In fact, they do very little contribution to the nature. Therefore, the environment around us is becoming worse and worse.

Do you often use batteries? Then do you know it takes 50 times more energy to make them than they produce? And just one si-mp-le battery can pollute as much water as a person can drink in his whole life. The facts and figures are amazing. So would you please try to use batteries only when it is necessary? If possible, give the used ones to the recycling companies so that they will be made into new ones and won’t be able to pollute the environment any more.

Sometimes we become complacent when it comes to recycling, but when you speak in terms of actual facts and figures that everybody can understand, people become much clearer about the problem.

We, as school students, can also join in recycling activities to protect the environment. For example, our class set up a recycling

center beside the back door, it is very useful. It is used to collect the waste pa-pe-r and plastic bottles. In the past, our classmates used to throw all of these into the trashcan. At the very beginning of this collecting activity, it was not so warm-welcomed. Later, more and more people were influenced by the others and joined this collecting activity. Gradually, all the students in our class form a good habit to protect the environment. All of us will now put away the reusable things instead of throwing them into the trashcan.

We should always remember in our mind that protecting the environment is our duty that we can never neglect. Finally would you please let me end this speech with a little poem, “Be kind to the river. Be good to the trees. Smile at the sunshine, and bow to the breeze. Be friendly to nature, and nature will be friendly to you!”

Good morning , ladies and gentlemen. Now, Did you feel some changes around the earth ? Just like summer is hotter and winter is colder . The sky is not blue and the water is not clean .Also, I have to tell you some truth .Ten years ago , the Aral Sea was the fourth-largest inland sea in the world ,but now it is disappearing . Global warming becomes more and more serious . Many precious species can`t exist on the earth anymore . What`s more , some small island countries will be submerged by sea water .

What should we can do to protect our earth ? Human beings is to earth what fish is to water . There are many things we can do . For us , we can plant trees to clean the air. Giving up using the plastic bags is helpful to protect our soil. Also, we can choose a environmental transportation way , such as bicycle or public bus . For government , they need to set a proper laws to limit industrial factories. Because their activities always polluted the water and air. Many businessman would do many things to make money regardless of the environment . In a word, protecting our earth is a long-term thing , which need our knowledge and efforts . So come on . Let`s do it right now .

Good morning, my honorable judges:

I feel so happy to have the chance to make a speech. The title of my speech is “Protect the Environment”. I hope you will like it.

Everybody knows waste pa-pe-r and used coke cans are discarded everywhere. You might have seen plastic bags flying in the sky and getting caught in the trees when the wind blows or maybe you have seen old cans floating in the rivers. Our environment is the place which we live, but it is being ruined by us. There is a story about a house and trees. It is said that a man’s house was surrounded by a lot of trees. Though the wind was strong, that man could have a good rest under the trees. How comfortable the life was! One day, that man wanted to enlarge his house, so he cut down all the trees. Then the autumn came without the protection. The strong wind blew the roof of the house into the sky. The whole house was gone with the wind. What a pity! But that’s the price people have to pay for destroying in the ecology balance. People shouldn’t be

short-sighted. Protecting the environment is everyone’s task. As you know, there are four kinds of pollution. They are air pollution, water pollution, waste pollution and noise

pollution. But what can we do to solve the pollution? I think, first, we can make cars that don’t pollute the environment. Second, we can try to use less water and make sure that we do not pollute the water. Third, we should not throw rubbish in the parks. We can pick up rubbish if we see it. Fourth, we can live far from the noise.

The air, water and the whole atmosphere directly influenced our lives, such as the air, people may cough and it will lead to cancer. So we must try our best to keep the world clean and tidy. You might ask yourself, “Have I ever picked up some rubbish and thrown it into a dustbin? Have I ever collected waste pa-pe-r or bottles for recycling?” If your answers are “Yes”, it means that you have already done something useful to improve the environment.

In order to make the environment clean, let’s join our hands together to make the world better.

As we all know,the environmemt around us is getting worse and worse In some places we can’t see fish swimming in the river or trees on the hills. Some people even have no clean water to drink. So I think we must do something to protect the

environment. .But what can we do? How to protect our environmemt? For example, we can go to school on foot or by bike . we can use shopping basskets not plastic bags .when we go shopping and we can use both sides of the pa-pe-r when we write .In a word ,if everyone pays more attention to our environment ,there will be less pollution and our life will be better. There is only one earth”,I hope everyone will protect our environment well。
