画像里的话
“三十年前荆楚大地的一个凌晨，在一个属相中是鼠的时辰，一个艺术的幽灵来到人间，佛赋予他的使命就是带领芸芸众生探索生命的本源，挖掘生活的真谛，创造生活的美。因此，他的鞭下不是勤劳的牛羊，而是一群月亮，他在寻找心灵的菩提，寻找精神的绿洲。他一半生活在现实的尘世中，一半生活在心境的空灵里，因此取名半斋且是居士，虽诵经而不拘泥于经，虽礼佛而不崇拜佛，因为他认为人皆佛性，悟者即是佛”。这是细雨曾对半斋兄的一幅速写，当然是泼墨大写意，只求神韵而不拘泥于具体形象的工笔细描。
半斋兄的虽是钟情丹青，但却是军人之后，他的“父亲是个军人，他希望我能够继承他的衣钵，所以给我取了一个非常富有战争气息的名字--中原!(就是逐鹿中原的意思)可我从小不爱武枪弄棒，倒是喜欢舞文弄墨。为此没有少受父亲的敲打，可我不屈不饶，一如既往从事着我的爱好”。“ 善于涂鸦的我总是希望陶醉在自然之间，因为美来源于自然。在自然里可以物我两忘!常常在自然中发现灵感，捕捉灵感，创造灵感。让灵感超越自然”! 有时半斋兄“ 端一盆清水 ，走进产卵的陋室 ，将灵感裁成条幅 ，焦几笔浓浓淡淡的乡情 ，变成八大山人的笔意 ，在灯下尽情涂抹 ，一个个洁白的日子 ，让岁月变成一幅幅国画 ，把孤独悬挂 ，在年龄的轨道上 ，泼洒几笔豪放 ，展示画者的思想 ，一抹黄昏 ，一抹朝霞 ，斑斓的思绪 ，在文明的长廊中 ，绽放 ”。有时是“曾经邀月醉伯虎，太白遗梦看文章”，过着“游山玩水凭逍遥，焚琴煮鹤醉夕阳”的日子。他自称“ 我是一篇散文，散得无法用豆号连接，散得象海里的波纹 ，扩展着一个个黄昏 ，一个个黎明 ”。
半斋兄是个特别重朋友情义的人，他视朋友为春天，视朋友为太阳，“没有朋友就没有春天;没有朋友就没有太阳!得意时，朋友给你鸣笛。失望时，朋友给你打气”。
文人总是和墨客并称的，他不仅擅长丹青，对诗词歌赋亦很精通，尤长于现代新诗，婉约凄楚时如斜月秋风满落叶使人潸然泪下，伤感满怀;豁达洞察时如口吐莲花，妙语如珠，顽石点头;豪情放歌时似鼓角声声，催人奋进。
半斋兄虽自曰半斋，但他始终认为“人生最大的欣慰莫过于有一个温馨、和谐、浪漫的家”!言此者拥有的岂止半斋矣。
